"I always wanted to be a gangster." This is the statement of a GTA IV player, who has just learned that he can play as a gangster for free by downloading the mod. Before playing, however, it's worth understanding what this mod actually does and what you need to know before taking on this new challenge. Luckily for you, we've made an informative set of blog posts dedicated to everything you need to know about the patch in order to make your virtual criminal life easier. First and foremost, you need to know that you're not able to play as one of those well known GTA IV gangs such as the Russian Mafia or the Colombian Cartels. This mod is still under development and these gangs will be added later. Secondly, the mod only works with the latest (patched) version of GTA IV. The patch version number should be 1.0.7.0 or above; if you're unsure, go to your "My Documents" folder and search for a file called "gtaiv-config.xml". Goto "\\Documents\\GTAIV\\".Once again: This patch is for GTA IV 1.0. 7.0 or above only! IMPORTANT: We have also released two other patches (1.0.7.0-1.07-All and 1.07 - Crack). They are intended for people who like to play with friends, but if you would like to play on your own, use the Crack version instead of the All version! The patch is split into four parts (links below): Part One: "Criminal Mastermind Update" (Only for Xbox 360) This is what you download first if you haven't already installed any mods/patches on your copy of GTA IV . It will install all required files, including the mod itself. The update will only work if your GTA IV is patched up to 1.0.8.0! Part Two: "The Criminal Mastermind Update" (Only for PC) This part contains the file "gta_int_all_1_1_2.rpf", which is shared by both parts One and Three of this patch. You need this file if you want to play, but it will be useless if you don't install Part Three of this patch. Part Three: "The Criminal Mastermind Update" (Only for PC) Part three is the actual mod files (DLCs "GTA_IV_Criminals.rar" and "GTA_IV_Hotfix.rar", the GTA IV patch 1.0.8.0 and the DS/Xbox 360 Hotfix).
